Postscript

After serving twenty years as a Catholic Church under the name “Mary Help of Christians” the building finally closed as a place of Worship in 1998.

The building was converted into apartments so although the external character looks much the same the interior has been totally lost. The Apartments still retain the arched windows of the original building.

A plaque has been attached to the front wall commemorating all the good work that was done by so many people at this building for over 160 years. It also commemorates the Cook Family.
