Cossham Hospital Concerts

One feature was the Annual Cossham Hospital Concert. Remember, there was no National Health Service and the Hospital depended on local effort. So a local worthy took the chair, forms and chairs were borrowed from anywhere to fill the hall, and everybody turned up. A sell out was certain.

Handel Cossham, who left funds to found the Hospital, had preached his last Sermon at Wesley before travelling to London where he collapsed in the House of Commons and died soon afterwards. The Concert was not a Church effort but involved the whole Community.
