The run up to Christmas was always preceded by the Christmas Fayre, probably the largest Fund Raising event of the year. All members of the church were involved, each running a stall.
In later years there was a prescribed tradition for the stall holders. There was consistently a table of Jumble, a cake stall, a chocolate stall, Christmas Cards and various games.
Christmas Day itself consisted of a Morning Service. |
The Tradition was that the final Hymn, O Come All Ye Faithful, was sung by the congregation out in the churchyard at the front of the church.
